Challenger Flow Calibrator BGI designs the best all around calibrators for verifying and calibrating the properties of Industrial Hygiene Air Sampling Instruments. The Challenger® is unsurpassed, when it comes to Economy and features. Our readout is in both Actual flow rate and Standard flow rate. Highly accurate Temperature and Barometric Pressure are also provided. No one matches our Temperature range (-30° to +55° C). We have been in the calibrator business since 1974.
The Challenger®, like all BGI Calibrators come standard with online software and an online Instruction Manual
One model does it all!
The heart of all BGI electronic Calibrators is the Venturi. It is made from aluminum, has no sharp edges and no moving parts. It offers a 90% recovery of pressure drop which is so important when performing a calibration. Good practice demands that the calibration conditions be as close to operating conditions as possible. Cleaning the Venturi is a simple washing procedure.
Because flow through the instrument is uninterrupted our graphic software provides a continuous output display of all functions. This continuous output makes it very simple to configure The Challenger® output to communicate with a sampler. Our own samplers, based on the Omni O/S, will perform this function allowing a “one button” update of Flow rate, Barometric pressure and temperature, completely eliminating the tedium of calibration.

TetraCAL Flow Calibrator
The TetraCal Flow Calibrator is a battery operated NIST traceable flow calibrator ranging from 0 to 30 lpm.
TheTetraCal is a simple-to-use, NIST Traceable Standard for volumetric and standard air flow, barometric pressure, and ambient temperature. The TetraCal system is designed to tolerate a wide range of adverse field conditions including hot and cold temperatures as well as high relative humidity. The field portable TetraCal is the perfect solution for calibrating environmental and industrial hygiene air sampling instruments.
To use the TetraCal, simply connect it and the sampling instrument with tubing and turn them both ON. The TetraCal immediately begins providing the flow rate and ambient condition data on the screen. There are no bubbles, sticking pistons or insurgent pressure spikes to worry about. Data can be captured using the RS232 and supplied freeware.
Calibrators display flow simultaneously in Qa (Flow Actual-Volumetric Conditions) and Qs (Flow Standard. at O° C , or 25 °C Standard Conditions, STP)
The TetraCal is a Venturi Primary Element (VPE) based system. The device is designed to be invisible to the instrument being calibrated, with no moving parts. Three Ventura cover a flow range from 0.1 to 30 Lpm. A special 50Lpm unit is available.
The TetraCal is the only field calibration device which meets the same specifications as US EPA & EU designated samplers. This is a dynamic temperature range from -30 to 40 C and each kit includes software that allows for data storage and reporting. All TetraCal systems are built and tested in a NIST traceable calibration facility, ISO 9002-2000 registered.

DeltaCAL Flow Calibrator Designed to go anyplace, indoors or out. From the top a 15,000 ft mountain to a 55° C desert or a -30° C snow field. Our first principle, Venturi calibrators will operate for 20 continuous hours on 4 AA cells. We are pulsation free, accurate to less than 0.75% of the flow rate reading, NIST traceable and designed, built and calibrated in an ISO 9001-2000 facility. We have always built our calibrators to these standards. Now our output screens show both Actual and Standard flow rates. This feature is applicable to every calibrator that we have ever produced and will be applied, during a recalibration, to every instrument at no charge.
The BGI deltaCal is the first and only continuous volumetric flow calibration/audit device which gives a direct indication of volumetric flow rate, standard flow rate, barometric pressure (both mm/Hg & mb), ambient temperature and filter temperature in one instrument. It was developed for use with U.S. EPA PM2.5 designated samplers and their PM10 derivatives. With an accessory adapter it is usable with any air sampler in the 1.5 to 19.5 Lpm range. The DC100 version has a range of 10-60 Lpm. Typical screens are shown below on the left.
It is the only field audit/calibration device which meets the same temperature criteria as the EPA designated samplers themselves. The temperature range is -30° to 55° C (EPA requires up to 40° C).
The heart of the deltaCal is a venturi which is superior to an orifice, in that it offers no sharp edges which can be damaged and a 90% recovery of the measurement pressure drop, important when calibrating some forms of speciation samplers or other critical orifice controlled devices. Because flow through the instrument is uninterupted, our graphic software provides a continuous output display of all functions.
