DUVAS (Differential Ultra Violet Absorption Spectrometer) uses a well accepted optical technique which has been used for many years in larger more expensive formats to measure many of the gases which are controlled by legislation such as NO2, O3, and SO2 etc.
The technology has been developed at Imperial College London and by Duvas Technologies and is being introduced to the market by Europa Environmental Partners. Extensive laboratory and field trials have been carried out over the last 4 years and are currently ongoing as we bring the product into full production.
The system can be carried by hand or mounted on a vehicle providing data on the move. Utilising GPS technology concentration data and position can be streamed back to base allowing real time visualisation on a mapping system. Time resolution can be down to one second in higher concentrations and detection limits compare favourably with 'conventional' monitors at 10 minute averaging intervals.
